PRESS: Putin supports 200 bln rbl Kaliningrad sea port proj
MOSCOW, May 27 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to support development of a 200 billion ruble project to build a deep-water sea port in the Kaliningrad Region village of Yantarny, Kommersant business daily reported Monday citing a letter of presidential aide Andrei Belousov.
Belousov suggested recommending that the regional government develop and submit to the federal government a business plan for the project by July 1, and instruct the federal government to consider it by September 1 from the point of view of possible state participation and attracting foreign investors, the daily said.
The port’s capacity may amount to 48 million tonnes.
The total cost of the project, including construction of rail and auto roads, is estimated at 200 billion rubles, including 50 billion rubles of budget funds, Kommersant said.
